Olympic gold medallist Keshorn Walcott will carry the Trinidad and Tobago flag at tonight's Opening Ceremony of the 2016 Olympic Games at the Maracana Stadium in Rio De Janiero, Brazil, as head of a 32 member team.

Keshorn Walcott will receive yet another reward for his Olympic gold medal at the Maracana Stadium here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, today. The 2012 men's javelin champion has been named Trinidad and Tobago flagbearer for the 2016 Olympic Games opening ceremony, scheduled to start at 7 p.m. (TT time).

FELICE AISHA CHOW, the 39-year-old rower, will be the first Trinidad and Tobago competitor in action at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

ACTING Prime Minister Colm Imbert yesterday had a message for Trinidad and Tobago’s Olympic team at Brazil. “Best of luck,” Imbert said. “Win plenty of medals and make us proud. Looking forward to seeing the Trini flag flying high at the medals ceremonies.” Imbert also confirmed Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley landed safely at California on Thursday night.

Even if only for two weeks, can “Faster-Higher-Stronger” overpower deadlier, scarier and bloodier? Trinidad and Tobago Rio 2016 Olympics  Delegation leader – Chef de Mission, Dr Ian Hypolite has announced that Defending Olympic Men's Javelin champion Keshorn Walcott will have the honour of carrying the Trinidad and Tobago Flag and leading the Trinidad and Tobago delegation in Tomorrow 's Opening Ceremony at the Maracanã Stadium.
